After spending more than 25 years in the pool industry, John Hysell saw firsthand how often customers were left frustrated by poor communication, rushed service, and a lack of attention to detail. He knew there was a better way. 

That desire to do things differently is what motivated John to become licensed and start Aqua Haven Pool & Spa. 

His goal wasn't simply to start another pool company. His goal was to build a company that stands behind its work, treats customers with respect, and delivers the kind of service he would expect for his own family. Every pool we service is a reflection of our name, our reputation, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Meet Our Family 

John Hysell – Owner & Operator 

With more than 25 years of experience in the pool industry, John has built his career from the ground up. He began working on layout, excavation, and steel crews, gaining firsthand knowledge of every stage of pool construction. Through hard work, dedication, and a passion for the industry, he advanced into pool repairs and later became a construction supervisor, overseeing projects from start to finish.

Throughout his career, John has been involved in every phase of the pool building process, including layout, excavation, steel installation, plumbing, equipment installation, finishing, and project management. This extensive hands-on experience has given him a deep understanding of pool construction, equipment systems, water chemistry, and overall pool operation. It also allows him to identify potential issues, provide honest recommendations, and deliver practical solutions backed by decades of real-world experience.

Whether servicing an existing pool, diagnosing equipment problems, planning a renovation, or overseeing new construction, John is committed to providing quality workmanship and ensuring every customer receives the level of service and attention their investment deserves.

Kathrine Hysell – Co-owner & Administration 

Behind every successful family business is someone keeping everything organized and running smoothly. 

Kathrine, Johns wife, brings years of experience in administration, permitting, customer service, and business operations. She helps ensure that communication remains prompt, scheduling runs efficiently, and customers always have someone available to answer questions and provide support. 

Her attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction help create the positive experience we want every customer to have when working with Aqua Haven Pool & Spa. 

The Next Generation 

Johns son, Bryon, serves as our Maintenance Technician and is already learning the skills, knowledge, and work ethic that have built our company. 

Working alongside John, he is gaining firsthand experience in pool maintenance, water chemistry, equipment operation, and customer service. His goal is to continue learning every aspect of the business and carry on the values that Aqua Haven Pool & Spa was founded upon. 

For us, this isn't just a business—it's a family legacy. We are building something that can be passed down through generations while continuing to serve our community with integrity and pride.
